I think by the time I get all the quotes from all the builders, I will have a flat forehead and a huge headache. I’ve been told this is the hardest part of it all and it is already proving to be a pain in the arse. Although, making me wait 3 weeks for a quote is a good way of getting your name crossed out on the list. If I have to wait that long for you to work out a figure then who knows how long it would actually take you to get off your arse and do some work! Unfortunately because we are owner-building, nothing can get done until we have every single quote in. I was hoping to have the slab down by Christmas but I don’t like my chances of that happening now. I can only hope that I have everything sorted by Christmas so we can get it started as soon as all the tradesmen get back after their breaks. Fingers crossed!!
It looks like we will be sticking to the original plan of building our brick veneer home lol ….. I got the quote today for the timber home and it is more expensive than the home will be complete! I have no idea how this guy worked out his prices but he has no chance of us even thinking about it. We were only asking for a price for lock up – we had to get our own plasterer, electrician, plumber, painter, flooring, kitchen, laundry and bathrooms etc on top of what he quoted o.O He’s dreaming! They are nice homes, but they are not worth THAT much!
Well it’s been 3 months since I decided to do something about my eating habits. I was hoping it was going to be worth the weight …. and it was
. You can see here that I wasn’t happy with what I was doing and I had my first blood test to work out where I was going wrong with my diet. Not that there was really anything wrong with it, it has always been very healthy, but I knew something was missing or I was doing something wrong and could never work it out. It turns out, my body was out of balance and I needed to reintroduce some foods that I have not been eating and cut out others that were not working for me.
It all seemed simple enough and it was …. in fact I am still loving it. I have been able to add foods back in and I am not missing any of the foods that didn’t work for me. I can still go out for dinner, have a few drinks and I no longer worry about what I am eating because I know my limits.
In total so far I have lost 43.5cms and 7kgs. I feel awesome and I am still changing shape
I haven’t lost any muscle or strength which I am so happy about and am already back in the gym training hard. It will be good to see how I am going in another 3 months
I’m not sure if I have ever blogged about it (and to be honest I can’t be arsed looking back) but, about 12 months ago we were looking at established houses further out in the country and found this awesome timber homes that were done by a local builder. They are kit homes and are really homely. This is what originally got us thinking about building another house and we started looking at good blocks of land. Not really sure what happened, but we steered away from the timber home and decided we wanted our next house to be “the” house that we stay in for at least 10-15 years and made up our own plans. To cut a long story short, we drove past another one of the timber homes yesterday and it got us thinking ….. what if we get them to give us a quote on our design but build it in the timber, rather than brick veneer? Well, I went to see them today and it can be done. Now I am so confused as to what to do? I also now have to get 2 sets of quotes from a few tradies as it now depends on what type of house we build because the work needed will be different. I guess I’ll have to wait until we get the house quote back first and take it from there. It will be to lock up, which makes it a hell of a lot easier. I would really love it if we could build the timber one and should have the quote by Friday so fingers crossed it isn’t too much out of our price bracket
So it’s now been 7 months since I shaved my head for the World’s Greatest Shave and my hair is just starting to look nice again. I was contacted to do it again but I think I’ll give it a miss next year and give my hair a chance to grow again. I might do it again in a few years time ….. we’ll see

No, truly – I really need a massage – to finish my Diploma LOL That is ALL I have left to do. Sounds awesome doesn’t it. I had my exam last weekend and although I physically felt sick to the stomach, I went in and pretended I didn’t know anyone, got my “scenario” and just went with it. It worked, I think I did really well ….. the assessor said “congratulations, you did a great job” so I am assuming I passed ….
The only things I had left to do were to do some voluntary hours which I did on the weekend down at the cricket club and get a 1 hour full body relaxation massage …… bliss – I can’t wait.
I am hoping to get it done this week and then I am FREE from all study (until the next time ….. although I am thinking that is going to be a few years away now
)
I am still waiting on my result but be rest assured you WILL hear about it when I get it LOL
We have now moved (hence, my absence from blogging) and are now one step closer to the “dream home”. The soil tests have been done and we are just waiting on the engineering plans to be finalised so we can submit them to the council for approval.
Moving house is a bitch … I am so over doing it BUT the house we are renting is pretty damn cool. In fact I am loving it so much I was thinking of buying the place as an investment (when they put it back up for sale – when we move out). It is in the centre of town and I can walk to work, the shops, the local walking/running tracks and the PUB!
The boys have been awesome about it too …. I think they were a bit worried about not having much to do considering it is a smaller town but they have already had friends stay over (yes I am mad LOL) and have settled in really well. In fact when they both had their friends over they all decided to have a spa *rolls eyes*. I figured my two are pretty sensible so I’ll just let them have a bit of fun. You would think there were 10 kids in there with all the laughter and noise …. I just put the earplugs in and went to bed. I woke up yesterday morning to sopping wet clothes and about 6 towels to deal with BUT they had cleaned up all their mess. I love it when my kids do things like that and show some responsibility. I guess they know if they hadn’t done it, they wouldn’t have been having a “fun” spa again!
The furries have all settled in well and are loving the grass (we had NO grass at the last place). Although they all smell like lemons now. We have 2 lemon trees and an orange tree which have all dropped a lot of fruit …. they think they are all balls and are running around like lunatics with fruit in their mouths and wanting us to throw them so they can fetch. Problem is, we throw, they fetch ….. then they eat LMAO. I really need to find my camera and get some pics especially seeing as the gardener is coming today to mow the lawns (they were supposed to be done before we moved in). The furries LOVE freshly cut grass and I’ll have green dogs by the end of the day. So funny
Have got lots more to update on, but will do some more blog posts …. for now, it’s over and out
So I haven’t trained for about 2 months now. I really needed a rest (and I suppose with the PT’s that I do, I still get enough exercise).
Anyway, I’ve now challenged myself to do the One Hundred Push Ups training program. It looks pretty easy but I’ll admit that I can’t do 100 of them consecutively. Can only give it a go. I managed to squeeze out 29 good-form consecutive push ups (on my toes) for the initial test which isn’t too bad. The training program seems easy to follow …. I just need to register and put in my stats.
Come on …. who’s joining me?
That’s it – the countdown has started. I have just spent my last weekend at the massage college in remedial class going over everything we have been taught, practicing the massage strokes and going through all the paper work etc and what we need to do at the exam. It was really full on (and scary).
There are now only 6 weeks to go until my final exam at the college. I’m not sure yet what day exactly, but it will either be Saturday 17th or Sunday 18th October. I’ll get a letter from the college sometime over the next few weeks that will let me know.
There are 7 body regions and massage sequences that we need to know (100%) as well as the muscles we are working on, their origin, insertion and action, bone markings, trigger points and all the paper work involved.
There is so much to remember and it is pretty stressful but I suppose as the weeks pass, I’ll get over the stress and start to be more confident. I do wish though that it hadn’t been around the same time we have to move. Nothing like a bit of added pressure hey?
I worked out a timetable when I got home for the 50 practice massages and it only ends up being 9 a week which really isn’t that bad o.O …… and I guess the role playing will be fun
Please wish me luck …. I AM going to need it!
